अक्रॊधनः करॊधनेभ्यॊ विशिष्टस; तथा तितिक्षुर अतितिक्षॊर विशिष्टः अमानुषेभ्यॊ मानुषाश च परधाना; विद्वांस तथैवाविदुषः परधानः ॥ १-८२-६ ॥
'I imparted to him that individuals who restrain their anger are invariably superior to those dominated by it, and those inclined to forgive surpass the unforgiving. Humans excel over lower animals, and within humanity, the learned stand above the unlearned.' ॥ 1-82-6 ॥
english translation
आक्रुश्यमानॊ नाक्रॊशेन मन्युर एव तितिक्षतः आक्रॊष्टारं निर्दहति सुकृतं चास्य विन्दति ॥ १-८२-७ ॥
'If wronged, do not retaliate with wrongdoing. Unaddressed anger consumes oneself, while ignoring another's wrath diminishes their virtue and benefits oneself.' ॥ 1-82-7 ॥
english translation
नारुं तुदः सयान न नृशंसवादी; न हीनतः परम अभ्याददीत ययास्य वाचा पर उद्विजेत; न तां वदेद रुशतीं पापलॊक्यम ॥ १-८२-८ ॥
'Never inflict pain on others through cruel words. Never conquer your foes through dishonorable methods. And never speak words so scorching and sinful that they torment others.' ॥ 1-82-8 ॥

अरुं तुदं पुरुषं रूक्षवाचं; वाक कण्टकैर वितुदन्तं मनुष्यान विद्याद अलक्ष्मीकतमं जनानां; मुखे निबद्धां निरृतिं वहन्तम ॥ १-८२-९ ॥
'One who pierces another with harsh words, striking them with the thorns of speech, carries the worst misfortune for oneself. Such a person carries disgrace upon their face, inflicting destruction upon others.' ॥ 1-82-9 ॥

सद्भिः पुरस्ताद अभिपूजितः सयात; सद्भिस तथा पृष्ठतॊ रक्षितः सयात सदासताम अतिवादांस तितिक्षेत; सतां वृत्तं चाददीतार्य वृत्तः ॥ १-८२-१० ॥
'You should always regard the virtuous as your role models, constantly reflect upon your actions in comparison to theirs, and ignore the harsh words of the unrighteous.' ॥ 1-82-10 ॥
