सवयम उत्पाद्य वै पुत्रं सदृशं यॊ ऽवमन्यते तस्य देवाः शरियं घनन्ति न च लॊकान उपाश्नुते ॥ १-६९-१६ ॥
'A person who, despite having a son in his likeness, fails to acknowledge him, will not achieve the realms he desires. Indeed, the gods will diminish his wealth and fortune.' ॥ 1-69-16 ॥

कुलवंशप्रतिष्ठां हि पितरः पुत्रम अब्रुवन उत्तमं सर्वधर्माणां तस्मात पुत्रं न संत्यजेत ॥ १-६९-१७ ॥
'The ancestors have declared that a son carries forward the family lineage and heritage, making him the epitome of all righteous deeds. Hence, one should never forsake a son.' ॥ 1-69-17 ॥

सवपत्नी परभवान पञ्च लब्धान करीतान विवर्धितान कृतान अन्यासु चॊत्पन्नान पुत्रान वै मनुर अब्रवीत ॥ १-६९-१८ ॥
'Manu has delineated five categories of sons: those born to oneself through a lawful wife, those received as a gift from others, those acquired through monetary transactions, those nurtured with affection, and those begotten from women other than wedded wives.' ॥ 1-69-18 ॥

धर्मकीर्त्य आवहा नॄणां मनसः परीतिवर्धनाः तरायन्ते नरकाज जाताः पुत्रा धर्मप्लवाः पितॄन ॥ १-६९-१९ ॥
'Sons uphold their fathers' religious and righteous legacies, amplify their happiness, and deliver their forebears from the realms of hell.' ॥ 1-69-19 ॥

स तवं नृपतिशार्दूल न पुत्रं तयक्तुम अर्हसि आत्मानं सत्यधर्मौ च पालयानॊ महीपते नरेन्द्र सिंहकपटं न वॊढुं तवम इहार्हसि ॥ १-६९-२० ॥
'Hence, O mighty king among men, it is not fitting for you to forsake such a son. Therefore, O ruler of the Earth, nurture yourself, truth, and virtue by nurturing your son. O lion among monarchs, it is not appropriate for you to endorse this deception.' ॥ 1-69-20 ॥
