अन्यान परिवदन साधुर यथा हि परितप्यते तथा परिवदन्न अन्यांस तुष्टॊ भवति दुर्जनः ॥ १-६९-११ ॥
'As the honest are always pained at speaking ill of others, so do the wicked always rejoice in doing the same thing.' ॥ 1-69-11 ॥
english translation
अभिवाद्य यथा वृद्धान सन्तॊ गच्छन्ति निर्वृतिम एवं सज्जनम आक्रुश्य मूर्खॊ भवति निर्वृतः ॥ १-६९-१२ ॥
'Just as respectful greetings lead well-behaved individuals to a state of contentment, similarly, drawing near virtuous people brings fulfillment. Conversely, a fool remains unfulfilled despite his proximity to the wise.' ॥ 1-69-12 ॥

सुखं जीवन्त्य अदॊषज्ञा मूर्खा दॊषानुदर्शिनः यत्र वाच्याः परैः सन्तः परान आहुस तथाविधान ॥ १-६९-१३ ॥
'The honest find joy in overlooking faults, while the wicked take pleasure in searching for them.' ॥ 1-69-13 ॥
english translation
अतॊ हास्यतरं लॊके किं चिद अन्यन न विद्यते इदं दुर्जन इत्य आह दुर्जनः सज्जनं सवयम ॥ १-६९-१४ ॥
'The wicked consistently speak ill of the upright. However, the virtuous refrain from harming them, even when wronged. What could be more absurd in the world than those who are inherently wicked portraying the genuinely honest as wrongdoers?' ॥ 1-69-14 ॥

सत्यधर्मच्युतात पुंसः करुद्धाद आशीविषाद इव अनास्तिकॊ ऽपय उद्विजते जनः किं पुनर आस्तिकः ॥ १-६९-१५ ॥
'Even atheists find vexation in the company of those who have forsaken truth and virtue, resembling angered snakes emitting venomous poison. What, then, can I say of myself, who is deeply rooted in faith?' ॥ 1-69-15 ॥
