वरं कूपशताद वापी वरं वापी शतात करतुः वरं करतुशतात पुत्रः सत्यं पुत्रशताद वरम ॥ १-६९-२१ ॥
'Dedicating a tank surpasses the merit of dedicating a hundred wells. Performing a sacrifice exceeds the merit of dedicating a tank. Having a son outweighs the merit of performing a sacrifice. Upholding truth surpasses the merit of having a hundred sons.' ॥ 1-69-21 ॥

अश्वमेध सहस्रं च सत्यं च तुलया धृतम अश्वमेध सहस्राद धि सत्यम एव विशिष्यते ॥ १-६९-२२ ॥
'A hundred horse sacrifices had once been weighed against Truth, and Truth was found heavier than a hundred horse sacrifices.' ॥ 1-69-22 ॥
english translation
सर्ववेदाधिगमनं सर्वतीर्थावगाहनम सत्यं च वदतॊ राजन समं वा सयान न वा समम ॥ १-६९-२३ ॥
'O king, Truth, I ween, may be equal to the study of, the entire Vedas and ablutions in all holy places. There is no virtue equal to Truth: there is nothing superior to Truth.' ॥ 1-69-23 ॥
english translation
नास्ति सत्यात परॊ धर्मॊ न सत्याद विद्यते परम न हि तीव्रतरं किं चिद अनृताद इह विद्यते ॥ १-६९-२४ ॥
'There is no virtue higher than truth, nor is there anything beyond truth. Indeed, nothing is more intense than truth; falsehood has no existence here.' ॥ 1-69-24 ॥

राजन सत्यं परं बरह्मसत्यं च समयः परः मा तयाक्षीः समयं राजन सत्यं संगतम अस्तु ते ॥ १-६९-२५ ॥
'O king, truth is the ultimate divinity and the highest duty. Do not forsake your promise, O king may truth always be with you.' ॥ 1-69-25 ॥
