यथावद अर्चयित्वा सा पृष्ट्वा चानामयं तदा उवाच समयमानेव किं कार्यं करियताम इति ॥ १-६५-६ ॥
'And having worshipped the king and asked him about his health and peace, the maiden reverentially asked, 'What must be done, O king! I await your commands.' ॥ 1-65-6 ॥
english translation
yathAvada arcayitvA sA pRSTvA cAnAmayaM tadA uvAca samayamAneva kiM kAryaM kariyatAma iti ॥ 1-65-6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptताम अब्रवीत ततॊ राजा कन्यां मधुरभाषिणीम दृष्ट्वा सर्वानवद्याङ्गीं यथावत परतिपूजितः ॥ १-६५-७ ॥
'Then, the king, having been received with all due respects, addressed the sweet-speaking maiden, whose every aspect was without blemish, upon beholding her.' ॥ 1-65-7 ॥
english translation
tAma abravIta tatò rAjA kanyAM madhurabhASiNIma dRSTvA sarvAnavadyAGgIM yathAvata paratipUjitaH ॥ 1-65-7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआगतॊ ऽहं महाभागम ऋषिं कण्वम उपासितुम कव गतॊ भगवान भद्रे तन ममाचक्ष्व शॊभने ॥ १-६५-८ ॥
'I have come to seek the audience of the revered sage Kanva. O auspicious one, where has the venerable sage gone? Please enlighten me, O radiant one.' ॥ 1-65-8 ॥

Agatò 'haM mahAbhAgama RSiM kaNvama upAsituma kava gatò bhagavAna bhadre tana mamAcakSva zòbhane ॥ 1-65-8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscript[षक] गतः पिता मे भगवान फलान्य आहर्तुम आश्रमात मुहूर्तं संप्रतीक्षस्व दरक्ष्यस्य एनम इहागतम ॥ १-६५-९ ॥
'Sakuntala replied, 'The revered sage, my father, has temporarily left the hermitage to gather fruits. Please wait a moment, and you will see him upon his return.'" ॥ 1-65-9 ॥

[Saka] gataH pitA me bhagavAna phalAnya Ahartuma AzramAta muhUrtaM saMpratIkSasva darakSyasya enama ihAgatama ॥ 1-65-9 ॥

'Vaisampayana continued, The king, not seeing that sage, spoke thus to her, and the monarch, upon beholding her, observed the charming and graceful damsel with a beautiful smile.' ॥ 1-65-10 ॥
