अनन्तम अचलं देवं हंसं नारायणं परभुम धातारम अजरं नित्यं तम आहुः परम अव्ययम ॥ १-५७-८६ ॥
'They describe Him as the endless, immovable, divine swan, the Supreme Lord Narayana, the sustainer, the eternal, and the imperishable.' ॥ 1-57-86 ॥
english translation
anantama acalaM devaM haMsaM nArAyaNaM parabhuma dhAtArama ajaraM nityaM tama AhuH parama avyayama ॥ 1-57-86 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपुरुषः स विभुः कर्ता सर्वभूतपितामहः धर्मसंवर्धनार्थाय परजज्ञे ऽनधकवृष्णिषु ॥ १-५७-८७ ॥
'He is the all-pervading person, the doer, the great-grandfather of all beings. For the purpose of upholding Dharma and for the protection of the righteous, he incarnates among the descendants of Adhaka (the Yadavas).' ॥ 1-57-87 ॥

puruSaH sa vibhuH kartA sarvabhUtapitAmahaH dharmasaMvardhanArthAya parajajJe 'nadhakavRSNiSu ॥ 1-57-87 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअस्त्रज्ञौ तु महावीर्यौ सर्वशस्त्रविशारदौ सात्यकिः कृतवर्मा च नारायणम अनुव्रतौ सत्यकाद धृदिकाच चैव जज्ञाते ऽसत्रविशारदौ ॥ १-५७-८८ ॥
'And Satyaki and Kritavarma, conversant with (the use of) weapons possessed of mighty energy, well-versed in all branches of knowledge, and obedient to Narayana in everything and competent in the use of weapons, had their births from Satyaka and Hridika.' ॥ 1-57-88 ॥

astrajJau tu mahAvIryau sarvazastravizAradau sAtyakiH kRtavarmA ca nArAyaNama anuvratau satyakAda dhRdikAca caiva jajJAte 'satravizAradau ॥ 1-57-88 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptभरद्वाजस्य च सकन्नं दरॊण्यां शुक्रम अवर्धत महर्षेर उग्रतपसस तस्माद दरॊणॊ वयजायत ॥ १-५७-८९ ॥
'In Bharadwaja's lineage, Sage Chyavana begot Daruna through his intense penance. Daruna, thus born, increased the glory of the sage with formidable austerities.' ॥ 1-57-89 ॥

bharadvAjasya ca sakannaM daròNyAM zukrama avardhata maharSera ugratapasasa tasmAda daròNò vayajAyata ॥ 1-57-89 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptगौतमान मिथुनं जज्ञे शरस्तम्बाच छरद्वतः अश्वत्थाम्नश च जननी कृपश चैव महाबलः अश्वत्थामा ततॊ जज्ञे दरॊणाद अस्त्रभृतां वरः ॥ १-५७-९० ॥
'And the seed of the great Rishi Bharadwaja of severe penances, kept in a pot, began to develop. And from that seed came Drona (the pot-born). And from the seed of Gautama, fallen upon a clump of reeds, were born two twins, the mother of Aswatthaman (called Kripi), and Kripa of great strength.' ॥ 1-57-90 ॥
