उत्सवं कारयिष्यन्ति सदा शक्रस्य ये नराः भूमिदानादिभिर दानैर यथा पूता भवन्ति वै वरदानमहायज्ञैस तथा शक्रॊत्सवेन ते ॥ १-५७-२६ ॥
'Indeed, those men who cause this festivity of Sakra to be observed with gifts of land, of gems and precious stones, become the respected of the world. And king Vasu, the lord of Chedis bestowing boons and performing great sacrifices and observing the festivity of Sakra, was much respected by Indra.' ॥ 1-57-26 ॥

संपूजितॊ मघवता वसुश चेदिपतिस तदा पालयाम आस धर्मेण चेदिस्थः पृथिवीम इमाम इन्द्र परीत्या भूमिपतिश चकारेन्द्र महं वसुः ॥ १-५७-२७ ॥
'And from Chedi, he ruled the whole world virtuously. And for the gratification of Indra, Vasu, the lord of the Chedis, observed the festivity of Indra.' ॥ 1-57-27 ॥

पुत्राश चास्य महावीर्याः पञ्चासन्न अमितौजसः नाना राज्येषु च सुतान स सम्राड अभ्यषेचयत ॥ १-५७-२८ ॥
'And Vasu had five sons of great energy and immeasurable prowess. And the emperor installed his sons as governors of various provinces.' ॥ 1-57-28 ॥

महारथॊ मगध राड विश्रुतॊ यॊ बृहद्रथः परत्यग्रहः कुशाम्बश च यम आहुर मणिवाहनम मच छिल्लश च यदुश चैव राजन्यश चापराजितः ॥ १-५७-२९ ॥
'And his son Vrihadratha was installed in Magadha and was known by the name of Maharatha. Another son of his was Pratyagraha; and another was Kusamva, who was also called Manivahana. And the two others were Mavella, and Yadu of great prowess and invincible in battle.' ॥ 1-57-29 ॥

एते तस्य सुता राजन राजर्षेर भूरि तेजसः नयवेशयन नामभिः सवैस ते देशांश च पुराणि च वासवाः पञ्च राजानः पृथग वंशाश च शाश्वताः ॥ १-५७-३० ॥
'These, O monarch, were the sons of that royal sage of mighty energy. And the five sons of Vasu planted kingdoms and towns after their names and founded separate dynasties that lasted for long ages.' ॥ 1-57-30 ॥
