स] भृगॊः सुदयिता भार्या पुलॊमेत्य अभिविश्रुता तस्यां गर्भः समभवद भृगॊर वीर्यसमुद्भवः ॥ १-५-११ ॥
'Sauti responded, "Bhrigu had a beloved wife named Puloma, who conceived a child by Bhrigu."' ॥ 1-5-11 ॥

sa] bhRgòH sudayitA bhAryA pulòmetya abhivizrutA tasyAM garbhaH samabhavada bhRgòra vIryasamudbhavaH ॥ 1-5-11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्मिन गर्भे संभृते ऽथ पुलॊमायां भृगूद्वह समये समशीलिन्यां धर्मपत्न्यां यशस्विनः ॥ १-५-१२ ॥
'On a certain day, while the virtuous and steadfast Puloma was pregnant, Bhrigu, the great adherent of righteousness, left her at home to perform his ablutions.' ॥ 1-5-12 ॥

tasmina garbhe saMbhRte 'tha pulòmAyAM bhRgUdvaha samaye samazIlinyAM dharmapatnyAM yazasvinaH ॥ 1-5-12 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअभिषेकाय निष्क्रान्ते भृगौ धर्मभृतां वरे आश्रमं तस्य रक्षॊ ऽथ पुलॊमाभ्याजगाम ह ॥ १-५-१३ ॥
'It was at that moment that the Rakshasa named Puloma approached Bhrigu's dwelling. Upon entering the sage's abode, the Rakshasa beheld the blameless wife of Bhrigu, who was impeccable in every aspect. Overwhelmed by desire, the Rakshasa lost control of his senses.' ॥ 1-5-13 ॥

abhiSekAya niSkrAnte bhRgau dharmabhRtAM vare AzramaM tasya rakSò 'tha pulòmAbhyAjagAma ha ॥ 1-5-13 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतं परविश्याश्रमं दृष्ट्वा भृगॊर भार्याम अनिन्दिताम हृच्छयेन समाविष्टॊ विचेताः समपद्यत ॥ १-५-१४ ॥
'Having entered the hermitage and witnessing Bhrigu's blameless wife, the Rakshasa, consumed by desire, approached her with a lustful heart and attempted to woo her.' ॥ 1-5-14 ॥

taM paravizyAzramaM dRSTvA bhRgòra bhAryAma aninditAma hRcchayena samAviSTò vicetAH samapadyata ॥ 1-5-14 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअभ्यागतं तु तद रक्षः पुलॊमा चारुदर्शना नयमन्त्रयत वन्येन फलमूलादिना तदा ॥ १-५-१५ ॥
'Having approached, the Rakshasa Puloma, with his charming appearance, endeavored to win over Bhrigu's wife, employing sweet words and tempting her with fruits, roots, and the like.' ॥ 1-5-15 ॥
