अनन्तरम अहं मन्ये तक्षकाय दुरात्मने परतिकर्तव्यम इत्य एव येन मे हिंसितः पिता ।। १-४६-३६ ।।

'There is an urgency to seek retribution against the vile Takshaka, who perpetrated the heinous act of killing my father; no time should be spared in addressing this grievous injury.' ।। 1-46-36 ।।

english translation

anantarama ahaM manye takSakAya durAtmane paratikartavyama itya eva yena me hiMsitaH pitA || 1-46-36 ||

ऋषेर हि शृङ्गेर वचनं कृत्वा दग्ध्वा च पार्थिवम यदि गच्छेद असौ पापॊ ननु जीवेत पिता मम ।। १-४६-३७ ।।

'He caused my father's demise by using Sringin merely as a secondary instrument. It was out of sheer malevolence that he compelled Kasyapa's return. Had that Brahmana arrived, there is no doubt that my father would have been saved.' ।। 1-46-37 ।।

english translation

RSera hi zRGgera vacanaM kRtvA dagdhvA ca pArthivama yadi gaccheda asau pApò nanu jIveta pitA mama || 1-46-37 ||

परिहीयेत किं तस्य यदि जीवेत स पार्थिवः काश्यपस्य परसादेन मन्त्रिणां सुनयेन च ।। १-४६-३८ ।।

'What would he have lost if the king had revived by the grace of Kasyapa and the precautionary measures of his ministers?' ।। 1-46-38 ।।

english translation

parihIyeta kiM tasya yadi jIveta sa pArthivaH kAzyapasya parasAdena mantriNAM sunayena ca || 1-46-38 ||

स तु वारितवान मॊहात काश्यपं दविजसत्तमम संजिजीवयिषुं पराप्तं राजानम अपराजितम ।। १-४६-३९ ।।

'Ignorant of the consequences of my fury, he obstructed the arrival of Kasyapa, the eminent Brahmana whom he was unable to overcome, thwarting the prospect of reviving my father.' ।। 1-46-39 ।।

english translation

sa tu vAritavAna mòhAta kAzyapaM davijasattamama saMjijIvayiSuM parAptaM rAjAnama aparAjitama || 1-46-39 ||

महान अतिक्रमॊ हय एष तक्षकस्य दुरात्मनः दविजस्य यॊ ऽददद दरव्यं मा नृपं जीवयेद इति ।। १-४६-४० ।।

'Takshaka, the vile wrongdoer, committed a grave act of aggression by bestowing wealth upon the Brahmana, ensuring that he refrained from reviving the king.' ।। 1-46-40 ।।

mahAna atikramò haya eSa takSakasya durAtmanaH davijasya yò 'dadada daravyaM mA nRpaM jIvayeda iti || 1-46-40 ||
