ततॊ नाम स कन्यायाः पप्रच्छ भृगुनङ्गन वासुके भरणं चास्या न कुर्याम इत्य उवाच ह ॥ १-४२-२० ॥
'The sage, after pondering for a moment and noticing that the maiden did not share the same name as him and the issue of her maintenance remained unresolved, questioned Vasuki about the maiden's name. He also explicitly mentioned, "I will not undertake the responsibility of maintaining her."' ॥ 1-42-20 ॥
