यदि राजा न रक्षेत पीडा वै नः परा भवेत न शक्नुयाम चरितुं धर्मं पुत्र यथासुखम ।। १-३७-२३ ।।

sanskrit

'The reigning king should be forgiven in all his actions by people like us. If he neglects Dharma, Dharma will, in turn, destroy him. If the king fails to protect us adequately, we suffer greatly, and our ability to perform religious rites according to our wishes is hindered.' ।। 1-37-23 ।।

english translation

yadi rAjA na rakSeta pIDA vai naH parA bhaveta na zaknuyAma carituM dharmaM putra yathAsukhama || 1-37-23 ||
