अदासी चैव मातेयम अद्य परभृति चास्तु मे यथॊक्तं भवताम एतद वचॊ मे परतिपादितम ॥ १-३०-१६ ॥
'O serpents, seated here, partake of this elixir after completing your ablutions and religious rituals.' ॥ 1-30-16 ॥
english translation
adAsI caiva mAteyama adya parabhRti cAstu me yathòktaM bhavatAma etada vacò me paratipAditama ॥ 1-30-16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततः सनातुं गताः सर्पाः परत्युक्त्वा तं तथेत्य उत शक्रॊ ऽपय अमृतम आक्षिप्य जगाम तरिदिवं पुनः ॥ १-३०-१७ ॥
'As said by you, let my mother become, from this day, free, for I have accomplished your bidding.' The snakes having said unto Garuda, 'Be it so,' then went to perform their ablutions. Meanwhile, Sakra taking up the Amrita, went back to heaven.' ॥ 1-30-17 ॥
english translation
tataH sanAtuM gatAH sarpAH paratyuktvA taM tathetya uta zakrò 'paya amRtama AkSipya jagAma taridivaM punaH ॥ 1-30-17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअथागतास तम उद्देशं सर्पाः सॊमार्थिनस तदा सनाताश च कृतजप्याश च परहृष्टाः कृतमङ्गलाः ॥ १-३०-१८ ॥
'The snakes after performing their ablutions, their daily devotions, and other sacred rites, returned in joy, desirous of drinking the Amrita.' ॥ 1-30-18 ॥

athAgatAsa tama uddezaM sarpAH sòmArthinasa tadA sanAtAza ca kRtajapyAza ca parahRSTAH kRtamaGgalAH ॥ 1-30-18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतद विज्ञाय हृतं सर्पाः परतिमाया कृतं च तत सॊमस्थानम इदं चेति दर्भांस ते लिलिहुस तदा ॥ १-३०-१९ ॥
'They saw that the bed of kusa grass whereon the Amrita had been placed was empty, the Amrita itself having been taken away by a counter-act of deception.' ॥ 1-30-19 ॥
english translation
tada vijJAya hRtaM sarpAH paratimAyA kRtaM ca tata sòmasthAnama idaM ceti darbhAMsa te lilihusa tadA ॥ 1-30-19 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततॊ दवैधी कृता जिह्वा सर्पाणां तेन कर्मणा अभवंश चामृतस्पर्शाद धर्भास ते ऽथ पवित्रिणः ॥ १-३०-२० ॥
'And they began to lick with their tongues the kusa grass, as the Amrita had been placed thereon. And the tongues of the snakes by that act became divided in twain. And the kusa grass, too, from the contact with Amrita, became sacred thenceforth.' ॥ 1-30-20 ॥

tatò davaidhI kRtA jihvA sarpANAM tena karmaNA abhavaMza cAmRtasparzAda dharbhAsa te 'tha pavitriNaH ॥ 1-30-20 ॥
