ततॊ दवैधी कृता जिह्वा सर्पाणां तेन कर्मणा अभवंश चामृतस्पर्शाद धर्भास ते ऽथ पवित्रिणः ।। १-३०-२० ।।

sanskrit

'And they began to lick with their tongues the kusa grass, as the Amrita had been placed thereon. And the tongues of the snakes by that act became divided in twain. And the kusa grass, too, from the contact with Amrita, became sacred thenceforth.' ।। 1-30-20 ।।

english translation

tatò davaidhI kRtA jihvA sarpANAM tena karmaNA abhavaMza cAmRtasparzAda dharbhAsa te 'tha pavitriNaH || 1-30-20 ||
