तम उपाध्यायस तथापि पीवानम एव दृष्ट्वा पुनर उवाच अहं ते सर्वं भैक्षं गृह्णामि न चान्यच चरसि पीवान असि केन वृत्तिं कल्पयसीति ॥ १-३-४३ ॥
'Observing that Upamanyu remained well-fed despite no longer relying on alms or returning for a second round of begging, his preceptor affectionately remarked, "Upamanyu, my dear child, you've ceased partaking in alms, refrained from seeking more, and even stopped drinking milk. Yet, you remain robust and well-nourished." ' ॥ 1-3-43 ॥
