तत एनं चिन्तयानम एव स पुरुष उवाच उत्तङ्क एनम अश्वम अधिरॊह एष तवां कषणाद एवॊपाध्याय कुलं परापयिष्यतीति ।। १-३-१६१ ।।

'And when Utanka was anxious about this, the man addressed him and said, 'Ride this horse, Utanka, and he will in a moment carry thee to thy master's abode.' And Utanka having signified his assent, mounted the horse and presently reached his preceptor's house.' ।। 1-3-161 ।।

tata enaM cintayAnama eva sa puruSa uvAca uttaGka enama azvama adhiròha eSa tavAM kaSaNAda evòpAdhyAya kulaM parApayiSyatIti || 1-3-161 ||

स तथेत्य उक्त्वा तम अश्वम अधिरुह्य परत्याजगामॊपाध्याय कुलम उपाध्यायिनी च सनाता केशान आवपयन्त्य उपविष्टॊत्तङ्कॊ नागच्छतीति शापायास्य मनॊ दधे ।। १-३-१६२ ।।

'And his preceptress that morning after having bathed was dressing her hair and sitting, thinking of uttering a curse on Utanka if he should not return within time.' ।। 1-3-162 ।।

english translation

sa tathetya uktvA tama azvama adhiruhya paratyAjagAmòpAdhyAya kulama upAdhyAyinI ca sanAtA kezAna Avapayantya upaviSTòttaGkò nAgacchatIti zApAyAsya manò dadhe || 1-3-162 ||

अथॊत्तङ्कः परविश्यॊपाध्यायिनीम अभ्यवादयत ते चास्यै कुण्डले परायच्छत ।। १-३-१६३ ।।

'But, in the meantime, Utanka entered his preceptor's abode and paid his respects to his preceptress and presented her the ear-rings.' ।। 1-3-163 ।।

उत्तङ्क देशे काले ऽभयागतः सवागतं ते वत्स मनाग असि मया न शप्तः शरेयस तवॊपस्थितम सिद्धम आप्नुहीति ।। १-३-१६४ ।।

'"Utanka," she spoke, "you have come to the right place at the right moment. Welcome, my child. You are blameless, and hence, I do not impose any curse upon you. Fortune awaits you. May all your aspirations be fulfilled!"' ।। 1-3-164 ।।

uttaGka deze kAle 'bhayAgataH savAgataM te vatsa manAga asi mayA na zaptaH zareyasa tavòpasthitama siddhama ApnuhIti || 1-3-164 ||

'Utanka then presented himself before his mentor, who warmly exclaimed, 'Welcome! What has delayed your return for so long?'' ।। 1-3-165 ।।
