तन्त्रं चेदं विश्वरूपं युवत्यौ; वयतस तन्तून सततं वर्तयन्त्यौ कृष्णान सितांश चैव विवर्तयन्त्यौ; भूतान्य अजस्रं भुवनानि चैव ॥ १-३-१५१ ॥

'"These damsels representing universal nature are weaving without intermission a cloth with threads black and white, and thereby ushering into existence the manifold worlds and the beings that inhabit them!"' ॥ 1-3-151 ॥

english translation

tantraM cedaM vizvarUpaM yuvatyau; vayatasa tantUna satataM vartayantyau kRSNAna sitAMza caiva vivartayantyau; bhUtAnya ajasraM bhuvanAni caiva ॥ 1-3-151 ॥

वज्रस्य भर्ता भुवनस्य गॊप्ता; वृत्रस्य हन्ता नमुचेर निहन्ता कृष्णे वसानॊ वसने महात्मा; सत्यानृते यॊ विविनक्ति लॊके ॥ १-३-१५२ ॥

'Bearer of the thunder, guardian of the cosmos, conqueror of Vritra and Namuchi, illustrious one adorned in black, revealing both truth and untruth in the vast expanse of the universe.' ॥ 1-3-152 ॥

english translation

vajrasya bhartA bhuvanasya gòptA; vRtrasya hantA namucera nihantA kRSNe vasAnò vasane mahAtmA; satyAnRte yò vivinakti lòke ॥ 1-3-152 ॥

यॊ वाजिनं गर्भम अपां पुराणं; वैश्वानरं वाहनम अभ्युपेतः नमः सदास्मै जगद ईश्वराय; लॊकत्रयेशाय पुरंदराय ॥ १-३-१५३ ॥

'I bow to you, the supreme Lord and the ruler of the three worlds, who possesses as your mount the horse emerging from the depths of the ocean, a manifestation of Agni (the god of fire), O Purandara!' ॥ 1-3-153 ॥

yò vAjinaM garbhama apAM purANaM; vaizvAnaraM vAhanama abhyupetaH namaH sadAsmai jagada IzvarAya; lòkatrayezAya puraMdarAya ॥ 1-3-153 ॥

ततः स एनं पुरुषः पराह परीतॊ ऽसमि ते ऽहम अनेन सतॊत्रेण किं ते परियं करवाणीति ॥ १-३-१५४ ॥

'In response to Utanka's worship, the man with the horse said, 'I am pleased with your devotion. How may I be of service to you?' ॥ 1-3-154 ॥

tataH sa enaM puruSaH parAha parItò 'sami te 'hama anena satòtreNa kiM te pariyaM karavANIti ॥ 1-3-154 ॥

'Utanka responded, "May the serpents also come under my dominion."' ॥ 1-3-155 ॥
