सुरूपाश च विरूपाश च तथा कल्माषकुण्डलाः आदित्यवन नाकपृष्ठे रेजुर ऐरावतॊद्भवाः ॥ १-३-१४० ॥

'Utanka then glorified the serpents by the following slokas:"O serpents, subjects of King Airavata, resplendent in warfare, casting weapons on the battlefield akin to lightning-laden clouds propelled by the winds! Adorned with diverse and handsome forms, embellished with multicolored earrings, you, offspring of Airavata, gleam like the sun in the sky!" ॥ 1-3-140 ॥
