पुत्र मा साहसं कार्षीर मा सद्यॊ लप्स्यसे वयथाम मा तवा दहेयुः संक्रुद्धा वालखिल्या मरीचिपाः ।। १-१६-११ ।।

sanskrit

'Kashyapa cautioned, "O child, refrain from hasty actions, as they may lead to your suffering. The Valakhilyas, who sustain themselves by imbibing the sun's rays, could unleash their wrath upon you if provoked."' ।। 1-26-11 ।।

english translation

putra mA sAhasaM kArSIra mA sadyò lapsyase vayathAma mA tavA daheyuH saMkruddhA vAlakhilyA marIcipAH || 1-16-11 ||

hk transliteration

परसादयाम आस स तान कश्यपः पुत्रकारणात वालखिल्यांस तपःसिद्धान इदम उद्दिश्य कारणम ।। १-१६-१२ ।।

sanskrit

'Sauti continued, 'Kasyapa then propitiated, for the sake of his son, the Valakhilyas of exceeding good fortune and whose sins had been destroyed by ascetic penances.' ।। 1-26-12 ।।

english translation

parasAdayAma Asa sa tAna kazyapaH putrakAraNAta vAlakhilyAMsa tapaHsiddhAna idama uddizya kAraNama || 1-16-12 ||

परजाहितार्थम आरम्भॊ गरुडस्य तपॊधनाः चिकीर्षति महत कर्म तदनुज्ञातुम अर्हथ ।। १-१६-१३ ।।

sanskrit

'Kashyapa addressed them, saying, "O ascetics, whose wealth is asceticism, Garuda's undertaking is for the benefit of all creatures. The task he endeavors to achieve is significant. It is fitting for you to grant him your approval."' ।। 1-26-13 ।।

english translation

parajAhitArthama Arambhò garuDasya tapòdhanAH cikIrSati mahata karma tadanujJAtuma arhatha || 1-16-13 ||

एवम उक्ता भगवता मुनयस ते समभ्ययुः मुक्त्वा शाखां गिरिं पुण्यं हिमवन्तं तपॊ ऽरथिनः ।। १-१६-१४ ।।

sanskrit

'Sauti continued,' Those ascetics thus addressed by the illustrious Kasyapa, abandoned that bough and went to the sacred mountain of Himavat for purposes of ascetic penances.' ।। 1-26-14 ।।

english translation

evama uktA bhagavatA munayasa te samabhyayuH muktvA zAkhAM giriM puNyaM himavantaM tapò 'rathinaH || 1-16-14 ||

hk transliteration

ततस तेष्व अपयातेषु पितरं विनतात्मजः शाखा वयाक्षिप्तवदनः पर्यपृच्छत कश्यपम ।। १-१६-१५ ।।

sanskrit

'Once the sages had departed, the son of Vinata, his voice muffled by the branch held in his beak, inquired of his father Kashyapa.' ।। 1-26-15 ।।

tatasa teSva apayAteSu pitaraM vinatAtmajaH zAkhA vayAkSiptavadanaH paryapRcchata kazyapama || 1-16-15 ||
