रामं पुरस्कृत्य ययुर वृष्ण्यन्धकमहारथाः रत्नान्य आदाय शुभ्राणि दत्तानि कुरुसत्तमैः ।। १-२१३-५६ ।।

sanskrit

'Accompanied by Rama at the forefront, the mighty warriors of the Vrishni and Andhaka clans embarked, carrying the radiant gems bestowed upon them by the foremost Kurus.' ।। 1-213-56 ।।

english translation

rAmaM puraskRtya yayura vRSNyandhakamahArathAH ratnAnya AdAya zubhrANi dattAni kurusattamaiH || 1-213-56 ||

वासुदेवस तु पार्थेन तत्रैव सह भारत उवास नगरे रम्ये शक्र परस्थे महामनाः वयचरद यमुना कूले पार्थेन सह भारत ।। १-२१३-५७ ।।

sanskrit

'Meanwhile, Vasudeva, together with Arjuna, stayed in the delightful city of Indraprastha. Vasudeva wandered along the banks of the Yamuna in pursuit of deer.' ।। 1-213-57 ।।

english translation

vAsudevasa tu pArthena tatraiva saha bhArata uvAsa nagare ramye zakra parasthe mahAmanAH vayacarada yamunA kUle pArthena saha bhArata || 1-213-57 ||

ततः सुभद्रा सौभद्रं केशवस्य परिया सवसा जयन्तम इव पौलॊमी दयुतिमन्तम अजीजनत ।। १-२१३-५८ ।।

sanskrit

'In due time, Subhadra, the cherished sister of Krishna, gave birth to a son of remarkable brilliance. This child, known as Saubhadra (Abhimanyu), shone with such splendor that he was likened to Jayanta, the divine son born to Shachi, wife of Indra.' ।। 1-213-58 ।।

tataH subhadrA saubhadraM kezavasya pariyA savasA jayantama iva paulòmI dayutimantama ajIjanata || 1-213-58 ||

दीर्घबाहुं महासत्त्वम ऋषभाक्षम अरिंदमम सुभद्रा सुषुवे वीरम अभिमन्युं नरर्षभम ।। १-२१३-५९ ।।

'Subhadra bore a son with long arms, a broad chest, and eyes as large as a bull's. This heroic slayer of enemies came to be known as Abhimanyu.' ।। 1-213-59 ।।

अभीश च मन्युमांश चैव ततस तम अरिमर्दनम अभिमन्युम इति पराहुर आर्जुनिं पुरुषर्षभम ।। १-२१३-६० ।।

sanskrit

'This son of Arjuna, a formidable warrior from birth, was named Abhimanyu. True to his name, which means 'the fearless one,' he embodied both courage (abhi) and anger against injustice (manyu), qualities that would make him a terror to his enemies and a bull among men.' ।। 1-213-60 ।।
