दीनान अनाथान कौन्तेय परिरक्षसि नित्यशः साहं शरणम अभ्येमि रॊरवीमि च दुःखिता ।। १-२०६-३१ ।।

sanskrit

'O son of Kunti, you always protect the afflicted and the bereft. I seek your shelter, crying in sorrow.' ।। 1-206-31 ।।

english translation

dInAna anAthAna kaunteya parirakSasi nityazaH sAhaM zaraNama abhyemi ròravImi ca duHkhitA || 1-206-31 ||

hk transliteration

याचे तवाम अभिकामाहं तस्मात कुरु मम परियम स तवम आत्मप्रदानेन सकामां कर्तुम अर्हसि ।। १-२०६-३२ ।।

sanskrit

'I approach you with desire. Therefore, please fulfill my wish by surrendering yourself to me.' ।। 1-206-32 ।।

english translation

yAce tavAma abhikAmAhaM tasmAta kuru mama pariyama sa tavama AtmapradAnena sakAmAM kartuma arhasi || 1-206-32 ||

hk transliteration

[वै] एवम उक्तस तु कौन्तेयः पन्नगेश्वर कन्यया कृतवांस तत तथा सर्वं धर्मम उद्दिश्य कारणम ।। १-२०६-३३ ।।

sanskrit

'Vaisampayana said, "Thus, upon being addressed by the daughter of the Naga king, the son of Kunti fulfilled all her desires, with virtue as his guiding principle."' ।। 1-206-33 ।।

english translation

[vai] evama uktasa tu kaunteyaH pannagezvara kanyayA kRtavAMsa tata tathA sarvaM dharmama uddizya kAraNama || 1-206-33 ||

hk transliteration

स नागभवने रात्रिं ताम उषित्वा परतापवान उदिते ऽभयुत्थितः सूर्ये कौरव्यस्य निवेशनात ।। १-२०६-३४ ।।

sanskrit

'The mighty Arjuna spent the night in the palace of the Naga and rose with the sun in the morning. Accompanied by Ulupi, he returned from Kauravya's palace to the region where the Ganges enters the plains. There, the chaste Ulupi took her leave and returned to her own abode. O Bharata, she granted Arjuna a boon, making him invincible in water, saying, 'Every amphibious creature shall undoubtedly be vanquished by you.' ।। 1-206-34 ।।

english translation

sa nAgabhavane rAtriM tAma uSitvA paratApavAna udite 'bhayutthitaH sUrye kauravyasya nivezanAta || 1-206-34 ||
