[नारद] ततॊ देवर्षयः सर्वे सिद्धाश च परमर्षयः जग्मुस तदा पराम आर्तिं दृष्ट्वा कत कदनं महत ।। १-२०३-१ ।।

sanskrit

'Narada continued, 'Then the celestial Rishis, the Siddhas, and the high-souled Rishis, endowed with tranquility and self-restraint, were stricken with profound grief upon witnessing that act of widespread slaughter.'' ।। 1-203-1 ।।

english translation

[nArada] tatò devarSayaH sarve siddhAza ca paramarSayaH jagmusa tadA parAma ArtiM dRSTvA kata kadanaM mahata || 1-203-1 ||

hk transliteration

ते ऽभिजग्मुर जितक्रॊधा जितात्मानॊ जितेन्द्रियाः पितामहस्य भवनं जगतः कृपया तदा ।। १-२०३-२ ।।

sanskrit

'With their passions, senses, and souls under complete control, they then went to the abode of the Grandsire (Brahma), driven by compassion for the universe.' ।। 1-203-2 ।।

english translation

te 'bhijagmura jitakròdhA jitAtmAnò jitendriyAH pitAmahasya bhavanaM jagataH kRpayA tadA || 1-203-2 ||

ततॊ ददृशुर आसीनं सह देवैः पितामहम सिद्धैर बरह्मर्षिभिश चैव समन्तात परिवारितम ।। १-२०३-३ ।।

sanskrit

'Upon arriving, they beheld the Grandsire seated among the gods, with Siddhas and Brahmarshis surrounding him.' ।। 1-203-3 ।।

english translation

tatò dadRzura AsInaM saha devaiH pitAmahama siddhaira barahmarSibhiza caiva samantAta parivAritama || 1-203-3 ||

तत्र देवॊ महादेवस तत्राग्निर वायुना सह चन्द्रादित्यौ च धर्मश च परमेष्ठी तथा बुधः ।। १-२०३-४ ।।

sanskrit

'There resides the great god Mahadeva, along with Agni and Vayu. The Moon, the Sun, Dharma, and the wise Parameshti are also present there.' ।। 1-203-4 ।।

english translation

tatra devò mahAdevasa tatrAgnira vAyunA saha candrAdityau ca dharmaza ca parameSThI tathA budhaH || 1-203-4 ||

वैखानसा वालखिल्या वानप्रस्था मरीचिपाः अजाश चैवाविमूढाश च तेजॊ गर्भास तपस्विनः ऋषयः सर्व एवैते पितामहम उपासते ।। १-२०३-५ ।।

sanskrit

'Various groups of sages and ascetics, including the Vaikhanasas, Valikhilyas, Vanaprasthas, Marichipas, Ajas, Avimudhas, and the fire-born ascetics, all devote themselves to the worship of Pitamaha (the great ancestor, likely referring to Brahma).' ।। 1-203-5 ।।

vaikhAnasA vAlakhilyA vAnaprasthA marIcipAH ajAza caivAvimUDhAza ca tejò garbhAsa tapasvinaH RSayaH sarva evaite pitAmahama upAsate || 1-203-5 ||
