तयॊस तपः परभावेण दीर्घकालं परतापितः धूमं परमुमुचे विन्ध्यस तद अद्भुतम इवाभवत ॥ १-२०१-९ ॥

sanskrit

'Their arms upraised, and eye fixed, long was the period for which they observed their vows. And during their ascetic penances, a wonderful incident occurred there. For the mountains of Vindhya, heated for a long course of years by the power of their ascetic austerities, began to emit vapor from every part of their bodies.' ॥ 1-201-9 ॥

tayòsa tapaH parabhAveNa dIrghakAlaM paratApitaH dhUmaM paramumuce vindhyasa tada adbhutama ivAbhavata ॥ 1-201-9 ॥
