कश्मलं यत्र पार्थस्य वासुदेवॊ महामतिः मॊहजं नाशयाम आस हेतुभिर मॊक्षदर्शनैः ॥ १-२-१५६ ॥
'In this segment, the noble Vasudeva, employing profound insights rooted in the philosophy of ultimate liberation, alleviated Arjuna's inner turmoil arising from his deep familial connections, which were compelling him to confront and slay his own kin.' ॥ 1-2-156 ॥

शिखण्डिनं पुरस्कृत्य यत्र पार्थॊ महाधनुः विनिघ्नन निशितैर बाणै रथाद भीष्मम अपातयत ॥ १-२-१५७ ॥
'In this poignant episode, Arjuna, the preeminent archer, strategically positioned Shikandin ahead of him, skillfully releasing his most formidable arrows that ultimately brought down Bhishma from his chariot. Thus, Bhishma found himself laid upon a bed of arrows in the aftermath of the battle.' ॥ 1-2-157 ॥

'This extensive Parva is known as the sixth in the Bharata. In this has been composed of one hundred and seventeen sections' ॥ 1-2-158 ॥

पञ्च शलॊकसहस्राणि संख्ययाष्टौ शतानि च शलॊकाश च चतुराशीतिः पर्वण्य अस्मिन परकीर्तिताः वयासेन वेदविदुषा संख्याता भीष्म पर्वणि ॥ १-२-१५९ ॥
'In this segment known as the Bhishma Parva, there are intricately woven narratives, comprising five thousand verses, eight hundred, and forty shlokas. A total of four hundred and eighty-four shlokas have been meticulously enumerated in this revered section by the sage Vyasa, the master of Vedic knowledge.' ॥ 1-2-159 ॥

दरॊण पर्व ततश चित्रं बहु वृत्तान्तम उच्यते यत्र संशप्तकाः पार्थम अपनिन्यू रणाजिरात ॥ १-२-१६० ॥
'Subsequently unfolds the Drona Parva, a colorful narrative rich with diverse tales, where, during a prolonged conflict, the illustrious Partha skillfully discharged his arrows, creating a spectacle on the battlefield.' ॥ 1-2-160 ॥
