शिखण्डिनं पुरस्कृत्य यत्र पार्थॊ महाधनुः विनिघ्नन निशितैर बाणै रथाद भीष्मम अपातयत ॥ १-२-१५७ ॥
'In this poignant episode, Arjuna, the preeminent archer, strategically positioned Shikandin ahead of him, skillfully releasing his most formidable arrows that ultimately brought down Bhishma from his chariot. Thus, Bhishma found himself laid upon a bed of arrows in the aftermath of the battle.' ॥ 1-2-157 ॥
