यद्य असौ बराह्मणॊ न सयाद विन्देत दरौपदीं न सः न हि तं तत्त्वतॊ राजन वेद कश चिद धनंजयम ॥ १-१९२-११ ॥

'Duhsasana, with a blush of shame, spoke softly to his brother, saying, "Had Arjuna not disguised himself as a Brahmana, he could never have succeeded in winning Draupadi."' ॥ 1-192-11 ॥

english translation

yadya asau barAhmaNò na sayAda vindeta daraupadIM na saH na hi taM tattvatò rAjana veda kaza cida dhanaMjayama ॥ 1-192-11 ॥

दैवं तु परमं मन्ये पौरुषं तु निरर्थकम धिग अस्मत पौरुषं तात यद धरन्तीह पाण्डवाः ॥ १-१९२-१२ ॥

'It was due to this disguise, O king, that no one could recognize him as Dhananjaya. Fate, it seems, is always supreme. Effort is futile; alas for our efforts, O brother!' ॥ 1-192-12 ॥

daivaM tu paramaM manye pauruSaM tu nirarthakama dhiga asmata pauruSaM tAta yada dharantIha pANDavAH ॥ 1-192-12 ॥

एवं संभाषमाणास ते निन्दन्तश च पुरॊचनम विविशुर हास्तिनपुरं दीना विगतचेतसः ॥ १-१९२-१३ ॥

'Speaking thus to each other and reproaching Purochana for his negligence, they entered the city of Hastinapura with hearts full of sorrow and despair, exclaiming, "The Pandavas are still alive!"' ॥ 1-192-13 ॥

'Seeing the mighty Pandavas freed from the assassination plot, their resolves shattered, their plans undone, having escaped the house of lac, now united with Drupada again - the Kauravas were dismayed.' ॥ 1-192-14 ॥

tarastA vigatasaMkalpA dRSTvA pArthAna mahaujasaH muktAna havyavahAca cainAna saMyuktAna darupadena ca ॥ 1-192-14 ॥

धृष्टद्युम्नं च संचिन्त्य तथैव च शिखण्डिनम दरुपदस्यात्मजांश चान्यान सर्वयुद्धविशारदान ॥ १-१९२-१५ ॥

'Reflecting on Dhrishtadyumna, Sikhandin, and the other formidable sons of Drupada skilled in battle, they were filled with fear and overwhelmed with despair.' ॥ 1-192-15 ॥
