[वयास] आसीत तपॊवने का चिद ऋषेः कन्या महात्मनः नाध्यगच्छत पतिं सा तु कन्या रूपवती सती ॥ १-१८९-४१ ॥

sanskrit

'The Rishi then continued cheerfully, "In a certain hermitage, there was the daughter of an illustrious sage, who, though beautiful and virtuous, did not find a husband."' ॥ 1-189-41 ॥

english translation

[vayAsa] AsIta tapòvane kA cida RSeH kanyA mahAtmanaH nAdhyagacchata patiM sA tu kanyA rUpavatI satI ॥ 1-189-41 ॥
