तौ पार्थिवानां मिषतां नरेन्द्र; कृष्णाम उपादाय गतौ नराग्र्यौ विभ्राजमानाव इव चन्द्रसूर्यौ; बाह्यां पुराद भार्गव कर्मशालाम ॥ १-१८५-६ ॥
'Then, O monarch, the assembled kings stood still and beheld those two heroic figures, who, with Krishna between them, departed like the Sun and the Moon. They left the assembly and entered the residence of a potter on the outskirts of the city.' ॥ 1-185-6 ॥

तत्रॊपविष्टार्चिर इवानलस्य; तेषां जनित्रीति मम परतर्कः तथाविधैर एव नरप्रवीरैर; उपॊपविष्टैस तरिभिर अग्निकल्पैः ॥ १-१८५-७ ॥
'There, in the potter's house, sat a lady who shone like a flame of fire—she, I believe, is their mother.' ॥ 1-185-7 ॥

तस्यास ततस ताव अभिवाद्य पादाव; उक्त्वा च कृष्णाम अभिवादयेति सथितौ च तत्रैव निवेद्य कृष्णां; भैक्ष परचाराय गता नराग्र्याः ॥ १-१८५-८ ॥
'Then bowing down to her feet, And addressing Krishna with the words "I salute you", And having informed Krishna, Those noble men went out to beg for alms.' ॥ 1-185-8 ॥

तेषां तु भैक्षं परतिगृह्य कृष्णा; कृत्वा बलिं बरह्मणसाच च कृत्वा तां चैव वृद्धां परिविष्य तांश च; नरप्रवीरान सवयम अप्य अभुङ्क्त ॥ १-१८५-९ ॥
'Upon their return later, Krishna took what they had obtained as alms, devoted a portion to the gods, and gave another portion to Brahmanas. After this, she gave a portion to the venerable lady and distributed the remainder among those five foremost men. And she took a little for herself and ate it last of all.' ॥ 1-185-9 ॥

सुप्तास तु ते पार्थिव सर्व एव; कृष्णा तु तेषां चरणॊपधानम आसीत पृथिव्यां शयनं च तेषां; दर्भाजिनाग्र्यास्तरणॊपपन्नम ॥ १-१८५-१० ॥
'Then, O monarch, they all lay down to sleep, with Krishna lying along the line of their feet as their lower pillow.' ॥ 1-185-10 ॥
