[वै] भरातृवचस तत परसमीक्ष्य सर्वे; जयेष्ठस्य पाण्डॊस तनयास तदानीम तम एवार्थं धयायमाना मनॊभिर; आसां चक्रुर अथ तत्रामितौजाः ।। १-१८३-१ ।।

sanskrit

'Upon hearing their eldest brother's words, the sons of Pandu collectively deliberated, their minds focused on that purpose. Then, endowed with great radiance, they accepted that decision.' ।। 1-183-1 ।।

english translation

[vai] bharAtRvacasa tata parasamIkSya sarve; jayeSThasya pANDòsa tanayAsa tadAnIma tama evArthaM dhayAyamAnA manòbhira; AsAM cakrura atha tatrAmitaujAH || 1-183-1 ||

वृष्णिप्रवीरस तु कुरुप्रवीरान; आशङ्कमानः सहरौहिणेयः जगाम तां भार्गव कर्मशालां; यत्रासते ते पुरुषप्रवीराः ।। १-१८३-२ ।।

sanskrit

'Krishna, the hero of the Vrishni race, suspected that the five individuals he had seen at the Swayamvara were none other than the heroes of the Kuru race. Accompanied by the son of Rohini, Valadeva, he came to the house of the potter where those foremost of men had taken up their quarters.' ।। 1-183-2 ।।

english translation

vRSNipravIrasa tu kurupravIrAna; AzaGkamAnaH saharauhiNeyaH jagAma tAM bhArgava karmazAlAM; yatrAsate te puruSapravIrAH || 1-183-2 ||

तत्रॊपविष्टं पृथु दीर्घबाहुं; ददर्श कृष्णः सहरौहिणेयः अजातशत्रुं परिवार्य तांश च; उपॊपविष्टाञ जवलनप्रकाशान ।। १-१८३-३ ।।

sanskrit

'On arriving there, Krishna and Valadeva beheld Ajatasatru (Yudhishthira) with his well-developed and long arms, seated in that potter's house, with his younger brothers radiating like flames sitting around him.' ।। 1-183-3 ।।

english translation

tatròpaviSTaM pRthu dIrghabAhuM; dadarza kRSNaH saharauhiNeyaH ajAtazatruM parivArya tAMza ca; upòpaviSTAJa javalanaprakAzAna || 1-183-3 ||

ततॊ ऽबरवीद वासुदेवॊ ऽभिगम्य; कुन्तीसुतं धर्मभृतां वरिष्टह्म कृष्णॊ ऽहम अस्मीति निपीड्य पादौ; युधिष्ठिरस्याजमीढस्य राज्ञः ।। १-१८३-४ ।।

'Then Vasudeva approached that foremost of virtuous men, the son of Kunti, and reverently touched the feet of Yudhishthira, the prince of the Ajamida race, saying, "I am Krishna."' ।। 1-183-4 ।।

english translation

tatò 'baravIda vAsudevò 'bhigamya; kuntIsutaM dharmabhRtAM variSTahma kRSNò 'hama asmIti nipIDya pAdau; yudhiSThirasyAjamIDhasya rAjJaH || 1-183-4 ||

तथैव तस्याप्य अनु रौहिणेयस; तौ चापि हृष्टाः कुरवॊ ऽभयनन्दन पितृष्वसुश चापि यदुप्रवीराव; अगृह्णतां भारतमुख्यपादौ ।। १-१८३-५ ।।

sanskrit

'And Valadeva, the son of Rohini, also approached Yudhishthira and did likewise. Upon seeing Krishna and Valadeva, the Pandavas expressed great delight. And then, O foremost of the Bharata lineage, those heroes of the Yadu dynasty also respectfully touched the feet of Kunti, their father's sister.' ।। 1-183-5 ।।

tathaiva tasyApya anu rauhiNeyasa; tau cApi hRSTAH kuravò 'bhayanandana pitRSvasuza cApi yadupravIrAva; agRhNatAM bhAratamukhyapAdau || 1-183-5 ||
