करियताम अवहारॊ ऽसमाद युद्धाद बराह्मण संयुतात अथैनान उपलभ्येह पुनर यॊत्स्यामहे वयम ॥ १-१८१-३१ ॥
'Therefore, let us refrain from fighting with these Brahmanas. Indeed, Brahmanas, no matter the offense, should always be protected. First, let us ascertain who they are; once we know, we can then engage them in battle with determination.' ॥ 1-181-31 ॥

kariyatAma avahArò 'samAda yuddhAda barAhmaNa saMyutAta athainAna upalabhyeha punara yòtsyAmahe vayama ॥ 1-181-31 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतत कर्म भीमस्य समीक्ष्य कृष्णः; कुन्तीसुतौ तौ परिशङ्कमानः निवारयाम आस महीपतींस तान; धर्मेण लब्धेत्य अनुनीय सर्वान ॥ १-१८१-३२ ॥
'Vaisampayana continued, "Krishna, upon witnessing Bhima's deed, recognized them both as sons of Kunti. Addressing the assembled monarchs with tact, he said, 'This maiden has been rightfully won by the Brahmana.' With this, he persuaded them to cease the fight."' ॥ 1-181-32 ॥

tata karma bhImasya samIkSya kRSNaH; kuntIsutau tau parizaGkamAnaH nivArayAma Asa mahIpatIMsa tAna; dharmeNa labdhetya anunIya sarvAna ॥ 1-181-32 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptत एवं संनिवृत्तास तु युद्धाद युद्धविशारदाः यथावासं ययुः सर्वे विस्मिता राजसत्तमाः ॥ १-१८१-३३ ॥
'Having excelled in battle, those monarchs then ceased fighting. They returned to their respective kingdoms, filled with wonder.' ॥ 1-181-33 ॥

ta evaM saMnivRttAsa tu yuddhAda yuddhavizAradAH yathAvAsaM yayuH sarve vismitA rAjasattamAH ॥ 1-181-33 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवृत्तॊ बरह्मॊत्तरॊ रङ्गः पाञ्चाली बराह्मणैर वृता इति बरुवन्तः परययुर ये तत्रासन समागताः ॥ १-१८१-३४ ॥
'Those who had gathered there departed, saying, "The contest has concluded with the Brahmanas' victory. The princess of Panchala has become the bride of a Brahmana.' ॥ 1-181-34 ॥

vRttò barahmòttarò raGgaH pAJcAlI barAhmaNaira vRtA iti baruvantaH parayayura ye tatrAsana samAgatAH ॥ 1-181-34 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptबराह्मणैस तु परतिच्छन्नौ रौरवाजिनवासिभिः कृच्छ्रेण जग्मतुस तत्र भीमसेनधनंजयौ ॥ १-१८१-३५ ॥
'Surrounded by Brahmanas dressed in deer skins and other wild attire, Bhima and Dhananjaya struggled to make their way out of the crowd.' ॥ 1-181-35 ॥
