यस तु नॊच्छेदनं चक्रे कुशिकानाम उदारधीः विश्वामित्रापराधेन धारयन मन्युम उत्तमम ॥ १-१६४-६ ॥
'But the noble-hearted descendant of Kushika, despite the provocation, restrained his anger, holding back his supreme wrath due to the transgression of Viswamitra.' ॥ 1-164-6 ॥
english translation
पुत्रव्यसनसंतप्तः शक्तिमान अपि यः परभुः विश्वामित्र विनाशाय न मेने कर्म दारुणम ॥ १-१६४-७ ॥
'Even though tormented by the affliction of his son's misdeeds, and possessing great power, the mighty lord, Vishwamitra, did not contemplate such a dire act for the destruction of Vishwamitra.' ॥ 1-164-7 ॥
english translation
मृतांश च पुनर आहर्तुं यः सपुत्रान यमक्षयात कृतान्तं नातिचक्राम वेलाम इव महॊदधिः ॥ १-१६४-८ ॥
'He who, even after bringing back his dead sons from the realm of Yama, the god of death, did not exceed the limits, just like the great ocean that never crosses its boundaries.' ॥ 1-164-8 ॥

यं पराप्य विजितात्मानं महात्मानं नराधिपाः इक्ष्वाकवॊ महीपाला लेभिरे पृथिवीम इमाम ॥ १-१६४-९ ॥
'Even the mighty kings, the protectors of men, who conquered great souls, the sovereigns of the Ikshvaku dynasty, obtained this earth after defeating him.' ॥ 1-164-9 ॥

पुरॊहित वरं पराप्य वसिष्ठम ऋषिसत्तमम ईजिरे करतुभिश चापि नृपास ते कुरुनन्दन ॥ १-१६४-१० ॥
'O prince of the Kuru lineage, it was through securing Vasishtha, the foremost of sages, as their priest, that those monarchs conducted numerous magnificent sacrifices.' ॥ 1-164-10 ॥
