स हि तान्य आजयाम आस सर्वान नृपतिसत्तमान बरह्मर्षिः पाण्डव शरेष्ठ बृहस्पतिर इवामरान ॥ १-१६४-११ ॥
'And, O noblest of the Pandavas, that divine sage aided those monarchs in their sacrificial rites, much like Brihaspati assisting the immortals.' ॥ 1-164-11 ॥
english translation
sa hi tAnya AjayAma Asa sarvAna nRpatisattamAna barahmarSiH pANDava zareSTha bRhaspatira ivAmarAna ॥ 1-164-11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्माद धर्मप्रधानात्मा वेद धर्मविद ईप्सितः बराह्मणॊ गुणवान कश चित पुरॊधाः परविमृश्यताम ॥ १-१६४-१२ ॥
'So, seek out an accomplished and virtuous Brahmin, well-versed in the Vedas, whose heart is adorned with righteousness, to appoint as your priest.' ॥ 1-164-12 ॥
english translation
tasmAda dharmapradhAnAtmA veda dharmavida IpsitaH barAhmaNò guNavAna kaza cita puròdhAH paravimRzyatAma ॥ 1-164-12 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकषत्रियेण हि जातेन पृथिवीं जेतुम इच्छता पूर्वं पुरॊहितः कार्यः पार्थ राज्याभिवृद्धये ॥ १-१६४-१३ ॥
'A Kshatriya of noble lineage, aspiring to expand his realm by conquering the earth, should, O Partha, prioritize appointing a priest.' ॥ 1-164-13 ॥

kaSatriyeNa hi jAtena pRthivIM jetuma icchatA pUrvaM puròhitaH kAryaH pArtha rAjyAbhivRddhaye ॥ 1-164-13 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमहीं जिगीषता राज्ञा बरह्म कार्यं पुरःसरम तस्मात पुरॊहितः कश चिद गुणवान अस्तु वॊ दविजः ॥ १-१६४-१४ ॥
'One who seeks to conquer the earth should have a Brahmana by his side. Therefore, O Arjuna, let a skilled and knowledgeable Brahmana, who has mastered his senses and is well-versed in matters of religion, profit, and pleasure, be your priest.' ॥ 1-164-14 ॥
