य एष दिवि धिष्ण्येन नाकं वयाप्नॊति तेजसा एतस्य तपती नाम बभूवासदृशी सुता ॥ १-१६०-६ ॥
'In heaven, there exists a daughter named Tapati, equal in radiance to her father, who illuminates the entire sky with his light.' ॥ 1-160-6 ॥

ya eSa divi dhiSNyena nAkaM vayApnòti tejasA etasya tapatI nAma babhUvAsadRzI sutA ॥ 1-160-6 ॥

'Tapati, the daughter of the god Vivasvan, was renowned throughout the three worlds and dedicated herself to ascetic penances. She was also the younger sister of Savitri.' ॥ 1-160-7 ॥

vivasvatò vai kaunteya sAvitrya avarajA vibhò vizrutA tariSu lòkeSu tapatI tapasA yutA ॥ 1-160-7 ॥

'Among the celestial beings, the demons, the Yakshas, the Rakshasas, the Apsaras, and the Gandharvas, there was no woman equal to her in beauty.' ॥ 1-160-8 ॥

na devI nAsurI caiva na yakSI na ca rAkSasI nApsarA na ca gandharvI tathArUpeNa kA cana ॥ 1-160-8 ॥

'The girl had perfectly symmetrical features, faultless black eyes, and adorned herself in beautiful attire. She was chaste and conducted herself impeccably.' ॥ 1-160-9 ॥

suvibhaktAnavadyAGgI savasitAyata lòcanA savAcArA caiva sAdhvI ca suveSA caiva bhAminI ॥ 1-160-9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptन तस्याः सदृशं कं चित तरिषु लॊकेषु भारत भर्तारं सविता मेने रूपशीलकुलश्रुतैः ॥ १-१६०-१० ॥
'O Bharata, upon seeing her, Savitri (the sun) deemed that there was none in the three worlds who, for his beauty, virtues, conduct, and learning, deserved to be her husband.' ॥ 1-160-10 ॥
