'In heaven, there exists a daughter named Tapati, equal in radiance to her father, who illuminates the entire sky with his light.' ॥ 1-160-6 ॥

विवस्वतॊ वै कौन्तेय सावित्र्य अवरजा विभॊ विश्रुता तरिषु लॊकेषु तपती तपसा युता ॥ १-१६०-७ ॥

'Tapati, the daughter of the god Vivasvan, was renowned throughout the three worlds and dedicated herself to ascetic penances. She was also the younger sister of Savitri.' ॥ 1-160-7 ॥

न देवी नासुरी चैव न यक्षी न च राक्षसी नाप्सरा न च गन्धर्वी तथारूपेण का चन ॥ १-१६०-८ ॥

'Among the celestial beings, the demons, the Yakshas, the Rakshasas, the Apsaras, and the Gandharvas, there was no woman equal to her in beauty.' ॥ 1-160-8 ॥

सुविभक्तानवद्याङ्गी सवसितायत लॊचना सवाचारा चैव साध्वी च सुवेषा चैव भामिनी ॥ १-१६०-९ ॥

'The girl had perfectly symmetrical features, faultless black eyes, and adorned herself in beautiful attire. She was chaste and conducted herself impeccably.' ॥ 1-160-9 ॥

'O Bharata, upon seeing her, Savitri (the sun) deemed that there was none in the three worlds who, for his beauty, virtues, conduct, and learning, deserved to be her husband.' ॥ 1-160-10 ॥
