पुरास्त्रम इदम आग्नेयं परादात किल बृहस्पतिः भरद्वाजस्य गन्धर्व गुरुपुत्रः शतक्रतॊः ॥ १-१५८-२६ ॥
'This fiery weapon that I shall unleash upon you was bestowed upon Bharadwaja by Vrihaspati, the revered preceptor of Indra.' ॥ 1-158-26 ॥
english translation
भरद्वाजाद अग्निवेश्यॊ अग्निवेश्याद गुरुर मम स तव इदं मह्यम अददाद दरॊणॊ बराह्मणसत्तमः ॥ १-१५८-२७ ॥
'From Bharadwaja, it passed to Agnivesya, then to my preceptor, the foremost of Brahmanas, Drona, who finally entrusted it to me.' ॥ 1-158-27 ॥
english translation
[वै] इत्य उक्त्वा पाण्डवः करुद्धॊ गन्धर्वाय मुमॊच ह परदीप्तम अस्त्रम आग्नेयं ददाहास्य रथं तु तत ॥ १-१५८-२८ ॥
'Continuing, Vaisampayana narrated, "Uttering these words, the Pandava angrily launched the blazing weapon of fire at the Gandharva, instantly reducing his chariot to ashes."' ॥ 1-158-28 ॥
english translation
विरथं विप्लुतं तं तु स गन्धर्वं महाबलम अस्त्रतेजः परमूढं च परपतन्तम अवाङ्मुखम ॥ १-१५८-२९ ॥
'Rendered unconscious by the force of the weapon, the powerful Gandharva was tumbling headlong from his chariot.' ॥ 1-158-29 ॥
english translation
शिरॊरुहेषु जग्राह माल्यवत्सु धनंजयः भरातॄन परति चकर्षाथ सॊ ऽसत्रपाताद अचेतसम ॥ १-१५८-३० ॥
'Dhananjaya seized him by the hair of his head adorned with garlands of flowers and thus dragged the unconscious Gandharva towards his brothers.' ॥ 1-158-30 ॥
