[याज] याजेन शरपितं हव्यम उपयाजेन मन्त्रितम कथं कामं न संदध्यात सा तवं विप्रैहि तिष्ठ वा ।। १-१५५-३६ ।।

sanskrit

'However, Yaja replied, "O lady, whether you come now or later, why should the purpose of this sacrifice not be fulfilled when the offering has already been prepared and sanctified through Upayaja's invocations?"' ।। 1-155-36 ।।

english translation

[yAja] yAjena zarapitaM havyama upayAjena mantritama kathaM kAmaM na saMdadhyAta sA tavaM vipraihi tiSTha vA || 1-155-36 ||

hk transliteration

[बर] एवम उक्ते तु याजेन हुते हविषि संस्कृते उत्तस्थौ पावकात तस्मात कुमारॊ देवसंनिभः ।। १-१५५-३७ ।।

sanskrit

'The Brahmana continued, "Having uttered these words, Yaja poured the consecrated libation into the fire. From those flames emerged a child, radiant like a celestial, with the brilliance of fire, awe-inspiring to behold."' ।। 1-155-37 ।।

english translation

[bara] evama ukte tu yAjena hute haviSi saMskRte uttasthau pAvakAta tasmAta kumArò devasaMnibhaH || 1-155-37 ||

hk transliteration

जवाला वर्णॊ घॊररूपः किरीटी वर्म चॊत्तमम बिभ्रत सखड्गः सशरॊ धनुष्मान विनदन मुहुः ।। १-१५५-३८ ।।

sanskrit

'The child had a complexion like that of blazing fire, a formidable form, adorned with a crown and the best of armors. He carried a scimitar and a bow, and repeatedly emitted roars.' ।। 1-155-38 ।।

english translation

javAlA varNò ghòrarUpaH kirITI varma còttamama bibhrata sakhaDgaH sazarò dhanuSmAna vinadana muhuH || 1-155-38 ||

सॊ ऽधयारॊहद रथवरं तेन च परययौ तदा ततः परणेदुः पाञ्चालाः परहृष्टाः साधु साध्व इति ।। १-१५५-३९ ।।

sanskrit

'Upon his birth, he mounted a magnificent chariot and rode in it for a while. The Panchalas, filled with immense joy, exclaimed, 'Wonderful! Wonderful!'' ।। 1-155-39 ।।

english translation

sò 'dhayAròhada rathavaraM tena ca parayayau tadA tataH paraNeduH pAJcAlAH parahRSTAH sAdhu sAdhva iti || 1-155-39 ||

hk transliteration

भयापहॊ राजपुत्रः पाञ्चालानां यशः करः राज्ञः शॊकापहॊ जात एष दरॊण वधाय वै इत्य उवाच महद भूतम अदृश्यं खेचरं तदा ।। १-१५५-४० ।।

sanskrit

'The earth itself seemed unable to contain the jubilation of the Panchalas. Then, astonishingly, a celestial voice from the heavens proclaimed, 'This prince is born to vanquish Drona. He will dispel all the anxieties of the Panchalas, glorify their name, and alleviate the king's grief.' ।। 1-155-40 ।।

bhayApahò rAjaputraH pAJcAlAnAM yazaH karaH rAjJaH zòkApahò jAta eSa daròNa vadhAya vai itya uvAca mahada bhUtama adRzyaM khecaraM tadA || 1-155-40 ||
