अयुतानि ददान्य अष्टौ गवां याजय मां विभॊ दरॊण वैराभिसंतप्तं तवं हलादयितुम अर्हसि ॥ १-१५५-२१ ॥
'O revered master, conduct spiritual rites for me, and I shall grant you eighty thousand cows! My heart is consumed by enmity towards Drona; hence, it is incumbent upon you to soothe my troubled heart.' ॥ 1-155-21 ॥
english translation
ayutAni dadAnya aSTau gavAM yAjaya mAM vibhò daròNa vairAbhisaMtaptaM tavaM halAdayituma arhasi ॥ 1-155-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस हि बरह्मविदां शरेष्ठॊ बरह्मास्त्रे चाप्य अनुत्तमः तस्माद दरॊणः पराजैषीन मां वै स सखिविग्रहे ॥ १-१५५-२२ ॥
'Drona, foremost among Vedic scholars, is also skilled in the Brahma weapon, and because of this, he has defeated me in a conflict arising from a deteriorated friendship.' ॥ 1-155-22 ॥

sa hi barahmavidAM zareSThò barahmAstre cApya anuttamaH tasmAda daròNaH parAjaiSIna mAM vai sa sakhivigrahe ॥ 1-155-22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकषत्रियॊ नास्ति तुल्यॊ ऽसय पृथिव्यां कश चिद अग्रणीः कौरवाचार्य मुख्यस्य भारद्वाजस्य धीमतः ॥ १-१५५-२३ ॥
'Endowed with exceptional intelligence, the son of Bharadwaja currently holds the esteemed position of the chief preceptor among the Kauravas. There exists no Kshatriya on earth superior to him.' ॥ 1-155-23 ॥

kaSatriyò nAsti tulyò 'saya pRthivyAM kaza cida agraNIH kauravAcArya mukhyasya bhAradvAjasya dhImataH ॥ 1-155-23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदरॊणस्य शरजालानि पराणिदेहहराणि च षड अरत्नि धनुश चास्य दृश्यते ऽपरतिमं महत ॥ १-१५५-२४ ॥
'His bow measures a formidable six cubits in length, and his arrows have the capability of vanquishing any living being.' ॥ 1-155-24 ॥

daròNasya zarajAlAni parANidehaharANi ca SaDa aratni dhanuza cAsya dRzyate 'paratimaM mahata ॥ 1-155-24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस हि बराह्मण वेगेन कषात्रं वेगम असंशयम परतिहन्ति महेष्वासॊ भारद्वाजॊ महामनाः ॥ १-१५५-२५ ॥
'Clad as a Brahmana, that illustrious archer, the noble son of Bharadwaja, is dismantling the strength of the Kshatriyas across the globe.' ॥ 1-155-25 ॥
