वृकॊदर बलॊ नान्यॊ न भूतॊ न भविष्यति यॊ ऽभयुदीयाद युधि शरेष्ठम अपि वज्रधरं सवयम ।। १-१५०-१६ ।।

sanskrit

'There is no one on earth equal to Bhima in strength; he could even defeat the wielder of the thunderbolt himself.' ।। 1-150-16 ।।

english translation

vRkòdara balò nAnyò na bhUtò na bhaviSyati yò 'bhayudIyAda yudhi zareSThama api vajradharaM savayama || 1-150-16 ||

'Shortly after he was born, he tumbled from my lap onto the mountain's bosom. The weight of his body shattered the stone beneath him into pieces.' ।। 1-150-17 ।।

'By this incident, O son of Pandu, I became aware of Bhima's strength. Hence, I have decided to deploy him against the adversary of the Brahmana.' ।। 1-150-18 ।।

'I haven't done this out of foolishness, ignorance, or for selfish gain. It's a conscious decision to undertake this virtuous deed.' ।। 1-150-19 ।।

nedaM lòbhAna na cAjJAnAna na ca mòhAda vinizcitama buddhipUrvaM tu dharmasya vayavasAyaH kRtò mayA || 1-150-19 ||
