वृकॊदर बलॊ नान्यॊ न भूतॊ न भविष्यति यॊ ऽभयुदीयाद युधि शरेष्ठम अपि वज्रधरं सवयम ॥ १-१५०-१६ ॥
'There is no one on earth equal to Bhima in strength; he could even defeat the wielder of the thunderbolt himself.' ॥ 1-150-16 ॥
english translation
vRkòdara balò nAnyò na bhUtò na bhaviSyati yò 'bhayudIyAda yudhi zareSThama api vajradharaM savayama ॥ 1-150-16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptजातमात्रः पुरा चैष ममाङ्कात पतितॊ गिरौ शरीरगौरवात तस्य शिला गात्रैर विचूर्णिता ॥ १-१५०-१७ ॥
'Shortly after he was born, he tumbled from my lap onto the mountain's bosom. The weight of his body shattered the stone beneath him into pieces.' ॥ 1-150-17 ॥

jAtamAtraH purA caiSa mamAGkAta patitò girau zarIragauravAta tasya zilA gAtraira vicUrNitA ॥ 1-150-17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतद अहं परज्ञया समृत्वा बलं भीमस्य पाण्डव परतीकारं च विप्रस्य ततः कृतवती मतिम ॥ १-१५०-१८ ॥
'By this incident, O son of Pandu, I became aware of Bhima's strength. Hence, I have decided to deploy him against the adversary of the Brahmana.' ॥ 1-150-18 ॥

tada ahaM parajJayA samRtvA balaM bhImasya pANDava paratIkAraM ca viprasya tataH kRtavatI matima ॥ 1-150-18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनेदं लॊभान न चाज्ञानान न च मॊहाद विनिश्चितम बुद्धिपूर्वं तु धर्मस्य वयवसायः कृतॊ मया ॥ १-१५०-१९ ॥
'I haven't done this out of foolishness, ignorance, or for selfish gain. It's a conscious decision to undertake this virtuous deed.' ॥ 1-150-19 ॥

nedaM lòbhAna na cAjJAnAna na ca mòhAda vinizcitama buddhipUrvaM tu dharmasya vayavasAyaH kRtò mayA ॥ 1-150-19 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअर्थौ दवाव अपि निष्पन्नौ युधिष्ठिर भविष्यतः परतीकारश च वासस्य धर्मश च चरितॊ महान ॥ १-१५०-२० ॥
'Through this action, Yudhishthira, we achieve two objectives: repaying the Brahmana's kindness and gaining significant religious merit.' ॥ 1-150-20 ॥
