पीत्वा तवासृग गात्रेभ्यस ततः पश्चाद इमान अपि हनिष्यामि ततः पश्चाद इमां विप्रियकारिणीम ॥ १-१४१-१६ ॥

'After drinking your blood, I will then slay them, and finally, I will deal with this sister of mine who has wronged me.' ॥ 1-141-16 ॥

pItvA tavAsRga gAtrebhyasa tataH pazcAda imAna api haniSyAmi tataH pazcAda imAM vipriyakAriNIma ॥ 1-141-16 ॥

[वै] एवम उक्त्वा ततॊ बाहुं परगृह्या पुरुषादकः अभ्यधावत संक्रुद्धॊ भीमसेनम अरिंदमम ॥ १-१४१-१७ ॥

'Continuing, Vaisampayana narrated, 'Saying this, the cannibal extended his arms and rushed angrily towards Bhimasena, the vanquisher of foes.' ॥ 1-141-17 ॥

तस्याभिपततस तूर्णं भीमॊ भीमपराक्रमः वेगेन परहृतं बाहुं निजग्राह हसन्न इव ॥ १-१४१-१८ ॥

'Then, with great force, Bhima swiftly seized the extended arms of the Rakshasa who charged at him, as though in jest, showcasing his formidable strength.' ॥ 1-141-18 ॥

निगृह्य तं बलाद भीमॊ विस्फुरन्तं चकर्ष ह तस्माद देशाद धनूंष्य अष्टौ सिंहः कषुद्रमृगं यथा ॥ १-१४१-१९ ॥

'With force, Bhima seized the struggling Rakshasa and dragged him from that spot for a full thirty-two cubits, like a lion dragging its prey.' ॥ 1-141-19 ॥

nigRhya taM balAda bhImò visphurantaM cakarSa ha tasmAda dezAda dhanUMSya aSTau siMhaH kaSudramRgaM yathA ॥ 1-141-19 ॥

'Feeling the full force of Bhima's strength, the Rakshasa grew furious and, clutching onto the Pandava, let out a terrifying roar.' ॥ 1-141-20 ॥
