अद्य पाण्डुर मृतॊ राजा भराता मम सुदुर्लभः तेषु वीरेषु दग्धेषु मात्रा सह विशेषतः ॥ १-१३७-११ ॥
'And he said, "King Pandu, my illustrious brother, has indeed passed away today, with the tragic demise of his heroic sons and their mother, who were burnt to death."' ॥ 1-137-11 ॥
english translation
adya pANDura mRtò rAjA bharAtA mama sudurlabhaH teSu vIreSu dagdheSu mAtrA saha vizeSataH ॥ 1-137-11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptगच्छन्तु पुरुषाः शीघ्रं नगरं वारणावतम सत्कारयन्तु तान वीरान कुन्ति राजसुतां च ताम ॥ १-१३७-१२ ॥
'Go swiftly to Varanavata, men, and ensure that the funeral rites are conducted for those heroes and Kunti's daughter. Sanctify the bones of the deceased with customary rites, and perform all the customary and virtuous deeds customary on such occasions.' ॥ 1-137-12 ॥

gacchantu puruSAH zIghraM nagaraM vAraNAvatama satkArayantu tAna vIrAna kunti rAjasutAM ca tAma ॥ 1-137-12 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकारयन्तु च कुल्यानि शुभ्राणि च महान्ति च ये च तत्र मृतास तेषां सुहृदॊ ऽरचन्तु तान अपि ॥ १-१३७-१३ ॥
'Arrange for the purification of the families, their homes, and the great ones there. Let those who are the friends of the deceased also be duly honored.' ॥ 1-137-13 ॥

kArayantu ca kulyAni zubhrANi ca mahAnti ca ye ca tatra mRtAsa teSAM suhRdò 'racantu tAna api ॥ 1-137-13 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवंगते मया शक्यं यद यत कारयितुं हितम पाण्डवानां च कुन्त्याश च तत सर्वं करियतां धनैः ॥ १-१३७-१४ ॥
'In this manner, whatever beneficial actions I can perform, let them be done for the Pandavas and Kunti, with all the resources available.' ॥ 1-137-14 ॥

evaMgate mayA zakyaM yada yata kArayituM hitama pANDavAnAM ca kuntyAza ca tata sarvaM kariyatAM dhanaiH ॥ 1-137-14 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवम उक्त्वा ततश चक्रे जञातिभिः परिवारितः उदकं पाण्डुपुत्राणां धृतराष्ट्रॊ ऽमबिका सुतः ॥ १-१३७-१५ ॥
'After speaking thus, Dhritarashtra, the son of Ambika, accompanied by his relatives, poured libations of water in honor of the sons of Pandu.' ॥ 1-137-15 ॥
