ते वयं धृतराष्ट्रस्य परेषयामॊ दुरात्मनः संवृत्तस ते परः कामः पाण्डवान दग्धवान असि ॥ १-१३७-६ ॥
'Let us now convey to Dhritarashtra the message: "Your grand ambition has been fulfilled! The Pandavas have been burnt to death!"' ॥ 1-137-6 ॥

ततॊ वयपॊहमानास ते पाण्डवार्थे हुताशनम निषादीं ददृशुर दग्धां पञ्च पुत्राम अनागसम ॥ १-१३७-७ ॥
'They then commenced the task of extinguishing the flames to search for any sign of the Pandavas, only to discover the tragic sight of the innocent Nishada woman and her five sons burnt to ashes.' ॥ 1-137-7 ॥

खनकेन तु तेनैव वेश्म शॊधयता बिलम पांसुभिः परत्यपिहितं पुरुषैस तैर अलक्षितम ॥ १-१३७-८ ॥
'Then, the miner sent by Vidura, as he cleared away the ashes, carefully concealed the hole he had dug with the same ashes, ensuring it remained unnoticed by all who had visited the site.' ॥ 1-137-8 ॥

ततस ते परेषयाम आसुर धृतराष्ट्रस्य नागराः पाण्डवान अग्निना दग्धान अमात्यं च पुरॊचनम ॥ १-१३७-९ ॥
'The citizens then dispatched a message to Dhritarashtra, informing him that the Pandavas, along with Duryodhana's counselor Purochana, had perished in the fire.' ॥ 1-137-9 ॥

शरुत्वा तु धृतराष्ट्रस तद राजा सुमहद अप्रियम विनाशं पाण्डुपुत्राणां विललाप सुदुःखितः ॥ १-१३७-१० ॥
'Hearing that dreadful news, King Dhritarashtra lamented deeply, overwhelmed by intense sorrow at the destruction of the sons of Pandu.' ॥ 1-137-10 ॥
