[वै] तांस तु दृष्ट्वा सुमनसः परिसंवत्सरॊषितान विश्वस्तान इव संलक्ष्य हर्षं चक्रे पुरॊचनः ॥ १-१३६-१ ॥
'Vaisampayana narrated, 'Observing the Pandavas residing there happily and without any hint of suspicion for a whole year, Purochana became extremely pleased.' ॥ 1-136-1 ॥
english translation
पुरॊचने तथा हृष्टे कौन्तेयॊ ऽथ युधिष्ठिरः भीमसेनार्जुनौ चैव यमौ चॊवाच धर्मवित ॥ १-१३६-२ ॥
'Seeing Purochana so delighted, Yudhishthira, the righteous son of Kunti, spoke to Bhima, Arjuna, and the twins, Nakula and Sahadeva.' ॥ 1-136-2 ॥
english translation
अस्मान अयं सुविश्वस्तान वेत्ति पापः पुरॊचनः वञ्चितॊ ऽयं नृशंसात्मा कालं मन्ये पलायने ॥ १-१३६-३ ॥
'The cruel-hearted wretch has been thoroughly deceived. I believe it's time for us to make our escape.' ॥ 1-136-3 ॥
english translation
आयुधागारम आदीप्य दग्ध्वा चैव पुरॊचनम षट पराणिनॊ निधायेह दरवामॊ ऽनभिलक्षिताः ॥ १-१३६-४ ॥
'Let's burn the armory, causing Purochana's demise, leaving his body here. Then, all six of us shall depart unnoticed by anyone.' ॥ 1-136-4 ॥

अथ दानापदेशेन कुन्ती बराह्मण भॊजनम चक्रे निशि महद राजन्न आजग्मुस तत्र यॊषितः ॥ १-१३६-५ ॥
'Then, on the pretext of giving alms, Kunti prepared a great feast for the Brahmins, O King. Many women came there.' ॥ 1-136-5 ॥
