नायं बिभेत्य उपक्रॊशाद अधर्माद वा पुरॊचनः
'Duyodhana, the slow-witted, behaves according to his beliefs, unmoved by righteous anger or Purochana's threats," said Yudhishthira confidently, "He does not fear an uprising or injustice.' ॥ 1-134-21 ॥
english translation
अपि चेह परदग्धेषु भीष्मॊ ऽसमासु पितामहः कॊपं कुर्यात किमर्थं वा कौरवान कॊपयेत सः धर्म इत्य एव कुप्येत तथान्ये कुरुपुंगवाः ॥ १-१३४-२२ ॥
'If we are burnt to death, would our grandfather Bhishma become angry? Why would he, by displaying his wrath, risk angering the Kauravas? Alternatively, our grandfather Bhishma and the other esteemed members of the Kuru dynasty, considering righteous indignation against such a sinful act as virtuous, might indeed become wrathful.' ॥ 1-134-22 ॥

वयं तु यदि दाहस्य बिभ्यतः परद्रवेम हि सपशैर नॊ घातयेत सार्वान राज्यलुब्धः सुयॊधनः ॥ १-१३४-२३ ॥
'If, on the other hand, we flee from here out of fear of being burnt, Duryodhana, covetous of sovereignty, will surely orchestrate our demise through spies.' ॥ 1-134-23 ॥

अपदस्थान पदे तिष्ठन्न अपक्षान पक्षसंस्थितः हीनकॊशान महाकॊशः परयॊगैर घातयेद धरुवम ॥ १-१३४-२४ ॥
'Remaining indifferent, standing aloof, Duryodhana, entrenched in his faction, would exploit the weak and needy with supreme effort.' ॥ 1-134-24 ॥
english translation
तद अस्माभिर इमं पापं तं च पापं सुयॊधनम वञ्चयद्भिर निवस्तव्यं छन्नवासं कव चित कव चित ॥ १-१३४-२५ ॥
'Let us, therefore, deceive both Purochana and Duryodhana, spending our days in disguise when necessary.' ॥ 1-134-25 ॥
