तस्यां भूमौ बलिं चक्रे तिथौ नक्षत्रपूजिते अवघुष्टं पुरे चापि तदर्थं वदतां वर ॥ १-१२४-९ ॥

'Drona, the foremost among eloquent men, performed a sacrificial ritual on the measured-out land on a lunar day when the auspicious star was ascendant. This ceremony was conducted in the presence of assembled citizens who had been gathered to witness it through proclamation.' ॥ 1-124-9 ॥

tasyAM bhUmau baliM cakre tithau nakSatrapUjite avaghuSTaM pure cApi tadarthaM vadatAM vara ॥ 1-124-9 ॥
