सहसा चुक्रुशुस तत्र नराः शतसहस्रशः विस्मयॊत्फुल्लनयनाः साधु साध्व इति भारत ॥ १-१२४-२६ ॥
'And, O Bharata, all on a sudden, some hundreds and thousands, with eyes wide open in wonder, exclaimed, 'Well done! Well done!' ॥ 1-124-26 ॥
english translation
कृत्वा धनुषि ते मार्गान रथचर्यासु चासकृत गजपृष्ठे ऽशवपृष्ठे च नियुद्धे च महाबलाः ॥ १-१२४-२७ ॥
'After showcasing their proficiency in archery and chariotry, the mighty warriors then armed themselves with swords and shields. They proceeded to move around the arena, engaging in weapon play.' ॥ 1-124-27 ॥

गृहीतखड्गचर्माणस ततॊ भूयः परहारिणः तसरुमार्गान यथॊद्दिष्टांश चेरुः सर्वासु भूमिषु ॥ १-१२४-२८ ॥
'Then, armed with swords and shields, the valiant combatants once again entered the arena. They followed the prescribed paths and engaged in combat across the entire ground.' ॥ 1-124-28 ॥

लाघवं सौष्ठवं शॊभां सथिरत्वं दृढमुष्टिताम ददृशुस तत्र सर्वेषां परयॊगे खड्गचर्मणाम ॥ १-१२४-२९ ॥
'The spectators marveled at their agility, the symmetry of their bodies, their grace, composure, firm grip, and skillful use of sword and shield.' ॥ 1-124-29 ॥

अथ तौ नित्यसंहृष्टौ सुयॊधन वृकॊदरौ अवतीर्णौ गदाहस्ताव एकशृङ्गाव इवाचलौ ॥ १-१२४-३० ॥
'With hearts brimming with anticipation, Vrikodara and Suyodhana stepped into the arena, wielding their maces, resembling two solitary peaks of mountains.' ॥ 1-124-30 ॥
