ततॊ बद्धतनु तराणा बद्धकक्ष्या महाबलाः बद्धतूणाः सधनुषॊ विविशुर भरतर्षभाः ॥ १-१२४-२१ ॥
'Then, having girded up their loins, those mighty warriors, the foremost of the Bharata race, entered the arena. They were equipped with finger-protectors, bows, and quivers.' ॥ 1-124-21 ॥

tatò baddhatanu tarANA baddhakakSyA mahAbalAH baddhatUNAH sadhanuSò vivizura bharatarSabhAH ॥ 1-124-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअनुज्येष्ठं च ते तत्र युधिष्ठिरपुरॊगमाः चक्रुर अस्त्रं महावीर्याः कुमाराः परमाद्भुतम ॥ १-१२४-२२ ॥
'Led by Yudhishthira, the eldest among them, the powerful princes displayed their remarkable skills with weapons in that arena.' ॥ 1-124-22 ॥

anujyeSThaM ca te tatra yudhiSThirapurògamAH cakrura astraM mahAvIryAH kumArAH paramAdbhutama ॥ 1-124-22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptके चिच छराक्षेप भयाच छिरांस्य अवननामिरे मनुजा धृष्टम अपरे वीक्षां चक्रुः सविस्मयाः ॥ १-१२४-२३ ॥
'Some of the spectators lowered their heads, apprehending fall of arrows while others fearlessly gazed on with wonder.' ॥ 1-124-23 ॥

ke cica charAkSepa bhayAca chirAMsya avananAmire manujA dhRSTama apare vIkSAM cakruH savismayAH ॥ 1-124-23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptते सम लक्ष्याणि विविधुर बाणैर नामाङ्क शॊभितैः विविधैर लाघवॊत्सृष्टैर उह्यन्तॊ वाजिभिर दरुतम ॥ १-१२४-२४ ॥
'Swiftly riding on horses and skillfully controlling them, the princes began to hit targets with arrows engraved with their individual names.' ॥ 1-124-24 ॥

hk transliteration by Sanscriptतत कुमार बलं तत्र गृहीतशरकार्मुकम गन्धर्वनगराकारं परेक्ष्य ते विस्मिताभवन ॥ १-१२४-२५ ॥
'And seeing the prowess of the princes armed with bows and arrows, the spectators thought that they were beholding the city of the Gandharvas, became filled with amazement.' ॥ 1-124-25 ॥
