लाघवं शब्दवेधित्वं दृष्ट्वा तत्परमं तदा परेक्ष्य तं वरीडिताश चासन परशशंसुश च सर्वशः ।। १-१२३-२१ ।।

sanskrit

'Witnessing his extraordinary skill in archery and the precision with which he pierced the target, the Pandavas were greatly impressed. They observed him with admiration and praised him wholeheartedly.' ।। 1-123-21 ।।

english translation

lAghavaM zabdavedhitvaM dRSTvA tatparamaM tadA parekSya taM varIDitAza cAsana parazazaMsuza ca sarvazaH || 1-123-21 ||

तं ततॊ ऽनवेषमाणास ते वने वननिवासिनम ददृशुः पाण्डवा राजन्न अस्यन्तम अनिशं शरान ।। १-१२३-२२ ।।

'And thus, they commenced their search in the woods for the unknown inhabitant who had demonstrated such remarkable skill.' ।। 1-123-22 ।।

taM tatò 'naveSamANAsa te vane vananivAsinama dadRzuH pANDavA rAjanna asyantama anizaM zarAna || 1-123-22 ||

न चैनम अभ्यजानंस ते तदा विकृतदर्शनम अथैनं परिपप्रच्छुः कॊ भवान कस्य वेत्य उत ।। १-१२३-२३ ।।

sanskrit

'And soon, O king, the Pandavas discovered the one they sought, tirelessly releasing arrows from his bow. Upon seeing this unfamiliar man with a stern countenance, they inquired, "Who are you, and whose son are you?"' ।। 1-123-23 ।।

na cainama abhyajAnaMsa te tadA vikRtadarzanama athainaM paripapracchuH kò bhavAna kasya vetya uta || 1-123-23 ||

[एकलव्य] निषादाधिपतेर वीरा हिरण्यधनुषः सुतम दरॊणशिष्यं च मां वित्तधनुर्वेद कृतश्रमम ।। १-१२३-२४ ।।

'When questioned, the man responded, "O heroes, I am the son of Hiranyadhanus, the king of the Nishadas. Consider me also as a disciple of Drona, striving to master the art of warfare."' ।। 1-123-24 ।।

[ekalavya] niSAdAdhipatera vIrA hiraNyadhanuSaH sutama daròNaziSyaM ca mAM vittadhanurveda kRtazramama || 1-123-24 ||

'Vaisampayana continued, 'The Pandavas, having learned all about him, returned to the city and informed Drona about the remarkable display of archery they had witnessed in the forest.'' ।। 1-123-25 ।।
