अन्ये ऽपि हय आश्रमाः सन्ति ये शक्या भरतर्षभः आवाभ्यां धर्मपत्नीभ्यां सह तप्त्वा तपॊ महत तवम एव भविता सार्थः सवर्गस्यापि न संशयः ॥ १-११०-२६ ॥
'There are other hermitages as well where the illustrious Bharatarshabha (best of the Bharatas) can perform great austerities along with his virtuous wives. Certainly, you will indeed achieve success in both worlds by practicing such asceticism.' ॥ 1-110-26 ॥
english translation
परणिधायेन्द्रिय गरामं भर्तृलॊकपरायणे तयक्तकामसुखे हय आवां तप्स्यावॊ विपुलं तपः ॥ १-११०-२७ ॥
'O lord of the earth, setting aside the pleasures of the senses and being devoted to your husband, who is the refuge of all, both of us shall perform extensive austerities.' ॥ 1-110-27 ॥
english translation
यदि आवां महाप्राज्ञ तयक्ष्यसि तवं विशां पते अद्यैवावां परहास्यावॊ जीतिवं नात्र संशयः ॥ १-११०-२८ ॥
'If, O wise lord of men, you ask us to forsake, then today itself, we shall renounce all indulgences. There is no doubt that we will lead a life of self-control from now onwards.' ॥ 1-110-28 ॥

[प] यदि वयवसितं हय एतद युवयॊर धर्मसंहितम सववृत्तिम अनुवर्तिष्ये ताम अहं पितुर अव्ययाम ॥ १-११०-२९ ॥
'Pandu replied, 'If, indeed, this your resolve springeth from virtue, then with you both I shall follow the imperishable path of my fathers.' ॥ 1-110-29 ॥

तयक्तग्राम्य सुखाचारस तप्यमानॊ महत तपः वल्कली फलमूलाशी चरिष्यामि महावने ॥ १-११०-३० ॥
'Abandoning the pleasures of village life, and undergoing great austerities, I shall wander in the great forest, clad in bark and subsisting on fruits and roots.' ॥ 1-110-30 ॥
