स तवं रुरुर इति खयातः परमतेर आत्मजः शुचिः सवरूपं परतिलभ्याहम अद्य वक्ष्यामि ते हितम ॥ १-११-११ ॥
'You are indeed Ruru, the son of Pramati. Upon regaining my original form, I will share something beneficial with you.'॥ 1-11-11 ॥
english translation
sa tavaM rurura iti khayAtaH paramatera AtmajaH zuciH savarUpaM paratilabhyAhama adya vakSyAmi te hitama ॥ 1-11-11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअहिंसा परमॊ धर्मः सर्वप्राणभृतां समृतः तस्मात पराणभृतः सर्वान न हिंस्याद बराह्मणः कव चित ॥ १-११-१२ ॥
'And that illustrious individual, the best among Brahmanas, then shed his serpent form and regained his original appearance and radiance. Addressing Ruru, who possessed incomparable power, he spoke these words: 'O foremost among created beings, indeed, the highest virtue of a person lies in preserving the lives of others. Therefore, a Brahmana should never take the life of any creature.'॥ 1-11-12 ॥
english translation
ahiMsA paramò dharmaH sarvaprANabhRtAM samRtaH tasmAta parANabhRtaH sarvAna na hiMsyAda barAhmaNaH kava cita ॥ 1-11-12 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptबराह्मणः सौम्य एवेह जायतेति परा शरुतिः वेदवेदाङ्गवित तात सर्वभूताभय परदः ॥ १-११-१३ ॥
'A Brahmana should always be gentle. This is the most sacred commandment of the Vedas. A Brahmana should be proficient in the Vedas and Vedangas, and should instill faith in God among all beings.'॥ 1-11-13 ॥
english translation
barAhmaNaH saumya eveha jAyateti parA zarutiH vedavedAGgavita tAta sarvabhUtAbhaya paradaH ॥ 1-11-13 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअहिंसा सत्यवचनं कषमा चेति विनिश्चितम बराह्मणस्य परॊ धर्मॊ वेदानां धरणाद अपि ॥ १-११-१४ ॥
'He should be benevolent to all creatures, truthful, and forgiving, even as it is his paramount duty to retain the Vedas in his memory.'॥ 1-11-14 ॥
english translation
ahiMsA satyavacanaM kaSamA ceti vinizcitama barAhmaNasya parò dharmò vedAnAM dharaNAda api ॥ 1-11-14 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकषत्रियस्य तु यॊ धर्मः स नेहेष्यति वै तव दण्डधारणम उग्रत्वं परजानां परिपालनम ॥ १-११-१५ ॥
'The duties of the Kshatriya are not thine. To be stern, to wield the scepter and to rule the subjects properly are the duties of the Kshatriya.'॥ 1-11-15 ॥

kaSatriyasya tu yò dharmaH sa neheSyati vai tava daNDadhAraNama ugratvaM parajAnAM paripAlanama ॥ 1-11-15 ॥
