बराह्मणः सौम्य एवेह जायतेति परा शरुतिः वेदवेदाङ्गवित तात सर्वभूताभय परदः ॥ १-११-१३ ॥
'A Brahmana should always be gentle. This is the most sacred commandment of the Vedas. A Brahmana should be proficient in the Vedas and Vedangas, and should instill faith in God among all beings.'॥ 1-11-13 ॥
