अज्ञातं धृतराष्ट्रस्य यत्नेन महता ततः सॊदरं पातयाम आस गान्धारी दुःखमूर्च्छिता ।। १-१०७-११ ।।

'Impatient of the period of gestation which had prolonged so long, and deprived of reason by grief, she struck her womb with great violence without the knowledge of her husband.' ।। 1-107-11 ।।

english translation

ajJAtaM dhRtarASTrasya yatnena mahatA tataH sòdaraM pAtayAma Asa gAndhArI duHkhamUrcchitA || 1-107-11 ||

ततॊ जज्ञे मांसपेशी लॊहाष्ठीलेव संहता दविवर्षसंभृतां कुक्षौ ताम उत्स्रष्टुं परचक्रमे ।। १-१०७-१२ ।।

'Then, she gave birth to a lump of flesh, like an iron ball, after having kept it in her womb for two years. She decided to cast it away.' ।। 1-107-12 ।।

अथ दवैपायनॊ जञात्वा तवरितः समुपागमत तां स मांसमयीं पेशीं ददर्श जपतां वरः ।। १-१०७-१३ ।।

'As she prepared to discard it, Dwaipayana swiftly arrived, his spiritual prowess granting him insight. The foremost sage, upon seeing the lump of flesh, then addressed Suvala's daughter.' ।। 1-107-13 ।।

atha davaipAyanò jaJAtvA tavaritaH samupAgamata tAM sa mAMsamayIM pezIM dadarza japatAM varaH || 1-107-13 ||

ततॊ ऽबरवीत सौबलेयीं किम इदं ते चिकीर्षितम सा चात्मनॊ मतं सत्यं शशंस परमर्षये ।। १-१०७-१४ ।।

'At that moment, he spoke to Suvala's daughter, "What is the desire behind this action of yours?" She then expressed her true feelings and thoughts to the great sage.' ।। 1-107-14 ।।

'She said, "Upon learning that Kunti had given birth to a son as radiant as the sun, I struck my womb in despair."' ।। 1-107-15 ।।
