स चरन दक्षिणं पार्श्वं रम्यं हिमवतॊ गिरेः उवास गिरिपृष्ठेषु महाशालवनेषु च ॥ १-१०६-८ ॥
'And fixing his abode in a delightful and hilly region overgrown with huge sala trees, on the southern slope of the Himavat mountains, he roamed about in perfect freedom.' ॥ 1-106-8 ॥
